If I uncheck "Show complete multipart posts as a single article",
nothing happens when I click "Apply" or "OK".

If I return to preferences (after "OK"), the option is still checked.

I tried starting from scratch with no .pan/ directory, in case some
old setting in e.g. config.xml caused problems, but the bug remained.
