GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 119488
Nautilus doesn't seem to play nice with autofs
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
I use autofs on a /mnt/auto directory, so that e.g. the cdrom is accessible as /mnt/auto/cdrom and the floppy drive as /mnt/auto/floppy. This is really neat, but I can't seem to get it to play nice with Nautilus. Whenever I go to /mnt/auto/cdrom, I get the cdrom view, but as soon as the mount times out, back to ~ I go. :-/ Is there a way around this? My /etc/auto.master is: /mnt/auto /etc/auto.local --timeout=3 and my /etc/auto.local is: cdrom -fstype=iso9660,ro,sync,umask=227,gid=cdrom,nodev,nosuid :/dev/cdrom cdrw -fstype=iso9660,ro,sync,umask=227,gid=cdrom,nodev,nosuid :/dev/cdrw floppy -fstype=auto,sync,umask=007,gid=floppy,nodev,nosuid :/dev/fd0
