GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 118673
no output when choosing a window to focus with alt-tab/ctrl-alt-tab
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Using gnome-2.4 nightly build from 29th Ju;y 2003. .logged in as normal or root user. .using freeTTS speech driver -launch gnopernicus. When using alt-tab or ctrl-alt-tab to choose a window/panel to bring into focus, there is no speech telling you which window you are currently hightlighting before you select it. This makes it difficult to know which window you will focus, if you're relying solely on speech for navigation.
In this case, no event from at-spi is received from gnopernicus. So, this bug is a at-spi/gail bug.
The right commnent is: In this case, no event from at-spi is received by gnopernicus. So, this bug is a at-spi/gail bug.
Apologies for spam... marking as GNOMEVER2.3 so it appears on the official GNOME bug list :)
I belive this is a metacity bug. Metacity doesn't implement ATK.

Not a metacity bug, metacity's non-use of ATK is irrelevant.
