GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 118625
moving the panel to left, then reboot and relogin == crash
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
The gnome panel will crash if you move it to the left side of the screen, then logout and reboot, then relogin. The panel crashes over and over. Finally, I logged in as root, and entered ~myaccount then went to:~/.gconf/apps/panel/profiles/default/panels/bottom_panel and vi'ed %gconf.xml. On a hunch, I changed <stringvalue>panel-edge-left to <stringvalue>panel-edge-bottom since changing the location of the panel was something I had done recently. It worked. So, it seems if you move the panel to the left, then the panel will crash (over and over and over) on the next login.
This has been fixed. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 94625 ***
