Description Nathan Summers 2003-07-24 14:01:18 UTC
There are a number of interesting and useful suggestions for how loading
and saving of files can be improved. This tracking bug is intended to
list all of them in one place so that when a new load/save api is designed
it can take these things into account.

Assigned to general simply because XCF load/save is currently implented as
core functionality, and because the core would have to be changed to
support a better API anyway.

maybe we need Import Export components in bugzilla?
(preferably a seperate component for each)
Comment 2 Dave Neary 2003-07-25 11:02:55 UTC
Changing title to use convention for tracking bugs.

Dave.
Comment 3 Nathan Summers 2003-09-10 19:20:08 UTC
Added 118202 because of the comment about ways to rotate jpeg without
a full decompression. Part of improved loading is only loading as
much as you need.

A couple of versions ago the text box on the load save was removed for windows.
I frequenly find folder by typing the name and having the directory name
completion show the options. This can be a very fast way to navigate.
The other way that I frequently use it is if I have a folder open I can copy the
folder location and paste it in as the starting directory.
Now the only way to navigate is clicking on the folders.
Could even be a shrinking section only for those who use it.
If this is not the best place to post this, please let me know so that I can
post it elsewhere.

Thanks

A tracking bug is the worst place you could have added your comment to. Anyway,
you can enter your directory in the dialog you get when pressing Ctrl-L or '/'.
