it is not possibvle to copy the value of a key. 
the c&p buffer gets allways overwritten with
the key name/path

to reproduce this just try to copy any string value
in gconf-editor and paste it somethere else or
even as a value of another key.

This is working correctly for me with 2.5.x versions

Notice that this is alrealdy fixed on HEAD. (the other bug report
remains opened until we apply it to gnome-2-4 branch)
