i can confirm this bug with gpdf-0.110-1 it does not show integrals and some other mathematical symbols xpdf and acrobat reader show them correctly.
The problem with this sample file was fixed in CVS now. But similar problems still exist, e.g. using glyphs from a Type 1 font which are not accessible with the font's default encoding, but needed in the pdf an available via an encoding from the pdf's font dictionary.
