Description Matthew Nicholson 2003-06-19 04:17:12 UTC
When gnucash loads my account file it crashes, Im thinking it is becasue it
is trying to display the alert box for scheduled trans. Here is the error:

** ERROR **: file dialog-sxsincelast.c: line 1604 (sxsincelast_init):
assertion failed: (nextPage)
aborting...
Aborted

In this bugreport, do you already get any windows so that you already
clicked on something? Or does the crash occur before you can do
anything inside gnucash? Also, do you think there is a chance to send
an example gnucash data file (or even *your* data file) to here or to
jsled-gnomebugs@asynchronous.org? That would surely help a lot
reproduce this error and fix it.
Comment 2 Matthew Nicholson 2003-06-19 19:01:19 UTC
The crash happens as soon as the file is loaded. First gnucash would
just start than crash, so I moved .gnucash then started gnucash, it
loaded, then I tried to load my file, and it crashed again. That is
when I realized it was the scheduled trans. dialog causing the
problem.

As a temporary workaround you can run "gnucash --nofile" then Edit ->
Preferences -> Scheduled Transactions and turn off the "run
since-last-run at startup". Then exit gnucash and run "gnucash".

Does it run then?

You might also need to turn off the "auto-post transactions" in the
same preferences page.
Comment 4 Matthew Nicholson 2003-06-20 03:58:49 UTC
That work around worked.
Comment 5 Derek Atkins 2003-06-20 14:37:38 UTC
Yea, you've hit one of the many "Scheduled Transactions are Broken"
bugs. Your prize is a crashing gnucash. :(

At least now you can still use the program. Hopefully SXes will get
fixed eventually.
