GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 115483
Unable to create custom keybindings
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
When I switched from sawfish to metacity I discovered there was no way for me to configure keybindings to (for example) run xterms or other apps. Initially the help for the keybindings applet suggested that I was meant to use that applet, but since April, that information has disappeared and I now can find no way to configure custom keybindings when using metacity at all.
Metacity supports this, but the control panel configuration applet has no way to access this functionality. You can do it manually by editing the apps/metacity/keybinding_commands and apps/metacity/global_keybindings gconf keys using gconf-editor.
So rather than being a metacity bug, it's a bug in the applets? If so, why did you close it instead of reassigning?
fine. Whatever. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 114796 ***
Well, at least I now know what bug to track.
