GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 114687
Authentication error not handled properly
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
When the news server sends a "502 Authentication error", pan doesn't report the error to the user and keeps silently retrying. After changing my password on the server and forgetting to update the setting in pan, I had to run with --debug-sockets to figure out why it wasn't connecting.
Fixed in CVS: http://cvs.gnome.org/bonsai/cvsview2.cgi?diff_mode=context&whitespace_mode=show&subdir=pan&command=DIFF_FRAMESET&file=ANNOUNCE.html&rev1=1.172&rev2=1.173&root=/cvs/gnome http://cvs.gnome.org/bonsai/cvsview2.cgi?diff_mode=context&whitespace_mode=show&subdir=pan/pan&command=DIFF_FRAMESET&file=articlelist.c&rev1=1.645&rev2=1.646&root=/cvs/gnome
No, crap, I should learn my lesson and not leave two bugzilla issues opened at the same time. I meant to close #117183, not this one.
