Description Ralph Aichinger 2003-05-20 11:51:13 UTC
The window list menu (the Macintoshy thingy in the upper right corner)
extends to absurd widths with long window titles. It easily takes the whole
screen area, if you give one of your windows a long enogh title and you
have enough of them ;)

While I think it *should* reach down all the way, its width should be
limited, because all the interesting information is on its left (the icons,
most windows titles) and there is nothing to gain from 200 character long
window titles anyway, information-wise. It is harder to use, if you have
to scan the whole width of the screen, instead of "knowing" it ends
somewhere on the right.

This menu should be truncated after some sensible value (like the Applist
normally on the lower panel) and longer entries should get the usual
ellipsis "...".

This is somewhat related, but not a duplicate of #111961, if I get
that bug's description right.

TIA
/ralph
