Description Jorn Baayen 2003-05-10 19:50:55 UTC
A phoenix-like smart bookmark toolbar control would be really slick.
Just list all the available smart bookmarks in the 'query-chooser'...
Comment 1 Jorn Baayen 2003-05-10 19:52:52 UTC
In fact this would also remove the need for (un)collapsable separate
smart bookmarks. (Which leads to a lot of problems as we al lremember
from Galeon times)
Comment 2 Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2003-05-11 00:03:33 UTC
jorn can you post a screen shot?
Comment 3 Marco Pesenti Gritti 2003-05-11 00:05:16 UTC
Personally I felt the query chooser a pain, but that could be just me.
Comment 5 Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2003-05-11 00:33:02 UTC
whats the point of this, you can do this in the address entry bar
already, plus there is a bug about using the up arrow for fast access
to the last item in the drop down list so that you could access your
smart bookmarks faster with the keyboard.
Comment 6 Jorn Baayen 2003-05-11 00:40:13 UTC
because its muche asier to use, for example i'm looking up a bunch of
albums at allmusic.com
now i can just paste in the names and just hit return (keeping the
bookmark selected on allmusic), instead of having to walk that menu
all the time. (and i dont need to have like 50 separate smart
bookmarks on my toolbar..)
Comment 7 Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2003-05-11 03:52:00 UTC
thinking about this, I don't think it would actually hurt to add this
as an optional toolbar action. I'm not sure it makes sense to include
in the default layout though.
Comment 8 spark 2003-05-11 12:59:17 UTC
In Firebird (nee Phoenix) and also in Camino, this isn't a "smart
bookmark" control, it's a Sherlock plugins control. See
http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html. And it's a really, really
useful feature.

Mass reassigning of Epiphany bugs to epiphany-maint@b.g.o
Comment 11 Christian Persch 2004-12-18 21:59:09 UTC
I think this could become an extension (as soon as toolbar-items-from-extensions
works).

There's a half-finished implementation in the 'toolbar-extras' extension in e-e cvs.

Re-assigning to correct default owner
Comment 13 André Klapper 2013-05-27 16:08:34 UTC
According to its developer, epiphany-extensions is not under active development
anymore. (For reference: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-i18n/2013-May/msg00035.html and bug 700924.)

It is unlikely that there will be any further active development.

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping - Please feel
free to reopen this bug report in the future if anyone takes the responsibility
for active development again.
