Description vania 2003-05-03 02:45:47 UTC
Package: gnome-panel
Severity: normal
Version: 2.2.0.1
Synopsis: Gnome Panel and Nautilus cause segmentation fault when trying to access my Samba shared device
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel
Bugzilla-Component: Panel
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.2.0.1)

Description:
Description of Problem:
Windows 98 NetBUI shared folder connects well most of the time, but has
crashed Nautilus three times with segfault. I have been unable to
return to normal second time without restarting machine (didn't fix),
installing KDE (didn't fix) returning to Gnome (somehow it worked).

Steps to reproduce the problem:Uncertain of exact steps. I have copied
files over with no problem before, but the 1st two times it crashed, it
reported errors. This last crash I did not get this far as I was unable
to connect to Samba server (says smb not running, though it is). I have
tried shutting down and restarting Samba, but this does not fix.

I am unable to get connected to Samba again.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. This bug report isn't
very useful because it doesn't describe the bug well. If you have time
and can still reproduce the bug, please read
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/bug-HOWTO.html and add a description of how
to reproduce this bug.

You should supply a stack-trace with debugging symbols too. Please
make sure that the package was compiled with debugging symbols and see
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/getting-traces.cgi for more information
about useful stack traces.

Bug should be marked as NEEDINFO.
