Description Mike Hearn 2003-04-27 20:07:43 UTC
Normally my toolbars have a grab handle. The ones in ephy don't

egg bug.
Comment 2 Soren Sandmann Pedersen 2003-04-28 13:09:04 UTC
How can this possibly be an EggToolbar bug? The EggToolbar has no idea
about detach handles.

I believe the way this used to be handled was by embedding a
BonoboToolbar in a BonoboDock, but I'm not really sure. In any case,
this is not something EggToolbar should handle.

I guess this is a really a duplicate of the possibly-nonexisting gtk+
bug "gtk+ should have a docking widget".

Unless someone moves this bug somewhere else within a week or so, I'll
WONTFIX it.
Comment 3 Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2003-04-28 15:25:51 UTC
soren good point. but it definately isn't an epiphany bug per se. I guess in theory we could wrap eggtoolbars in handle boxes in egg-editable-toolbar to move toolbars around. marco?
Comment 4 Marco Pesenti Gritti 2003-04-28 17:44:59 UTC
It's epiphany bug. We need to put our toolbars in handle boxes, yeah.
Or this new dock thing.
Anyway I feel this sort of low priority ;) I'd wait to see how new gtk
toolbars will shape up.
Comment 5 Murray Cumming 2003-05-30 08:23:57 UTC
But aren't the new GTK+ toolbars only going to be in GTK+ 2.4? It
would be nice to do the quick fix for epiphany now instead of waiting
for GNOME 2.6.
Comment 6 Marco Pesenti Gritti 2003-05-30 11:12:15 UTC
On the short time we can prolly use bonobo-dock.
Comment 7 Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2003-05-30 14:00:31 UTC
marco if you use bonobo dock aren't you going to need to change
egg-editable toolbar to do this?
Comment 8 Marco Pesenti Gritti 2003-05-30 14:03:21 UTC
Yeah :/ well we could have a define I guess. By default it would be
disabled.
Comment 9 Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2003-05-30 14:09:45 UTC
In addition i think this is really low priority anyway imo. Detachable
toolbars are pretty useless imo, plus bonobo dock doesn't seem to save
the position of toolbar when they are rearranged (in nautilus for
instance)so i sort of don't see the point of fixing this right now.
Comment 10 spark 2003-05-30 15:45:21 UTC
Well, it makes ephy toolbars look different to other GNOME apps, which
is not good.
Comment 11 Dave Bordoley [Not Reading Bug Mail] 2003-05-30 16:33:08 UTC
detachable toolbars are off by default as i remember. And we're only
different from bonobo apps. Any pure gtk-apps will have the same problem.
Comment 12 Murray Cumming 2003-05-31 14:57:44 UTC
Why would you use Bonobo dock instead of just a GtkHandleBox?
Comment 13 Marco Pesenti Gritti 2003-09-01 13:22:21 UTC
Sorry for the spam. Reassigning bugs with a target to our next milestone.
Comment 14 spark 2004-02-07 23:00:39 UTC
Target: 1.2 -> 1.4
Comment 15 Christian Persch 2004-07-25 13:20:51 UTC
Mass-moving Target 1.4 -> 1.6 because of feature and UI freeze. Sorry for the
bugspam, search for "mass-move-1.4-1.6" to filter all of it.
Comment 16 Christian Persch 2004-10-13 10:50:46 UTC
Mass reassigning of Epiphany bugs to epiphany-maint@b.g.o
Comment 17 Reinout van Schouwen 2006-08-24 20:25:33 UTC
Sorry, detachable toolbars are disappearing from GNOME together with bonobo. They aren't going to be implemented just in Epiphany. Resolving as NOTABUG.
