By default I have only one workspace in my workspace switcher applet.
                                                                                                                                                                           
If I change the number of workspace(s) to four, it doesn't keep my
preferences when I log out from gnome.
The next time I log on, there's still only one workspace in my workspace

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. change the number of workspace(s) to four
2. log out from gnome
3. log on
                                                                                                                                                                           
Actual Results:
one workspace
                                                                                                                                                                           
Expected Results:
four workspaces
