GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 111212
Drag off and reorganize tabs
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
It would be great if tabs could be reorganized between multiple gnome-terminal windows for example - I have one terminal open. I open another, independent window. I open a new tab in each of those, so now I have a total of 4 terminals open - 2 tabs in each window. so: window1 tab-a tab-b window2 tab-a tab-b I'd like to be able to do two things: 1. reorganize the tabs so that window1-tab-b could be moved to window2-tab-c 2. tear off the tabs so that window1-tab-a could become window3 When I mentioned this to Jeremy Katz he said you might think this was a crack feature request but I didn't think it was _that_ crazy it's sorta like what epiphany, mozilla and galeon offer and it would be handy thing to have. Also it would be nice to be able to tell gnome-terminal "always open new terminals as tabs" That might be a feature that would need to be buried in gconf-editor and default to off but I don't think it would over complicate things. Then again I've not looked at the gnome-terminal internals. thanks for the consideration.
Please file 1 problem/enhancement request per bug (easier for QA and assignees). The dragging off and reorganizing of tabs is a dupe of bug 86938. I'm going to file this as duplicate and the "always open new terminals as tabs" can be filed in a new 'bug'report. Thanks. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 86938 ***
