Description Mike Paul 2003-04-20 02:41:09 UTC
It'd be helpful if Metacity's global_keybindings (in gconf) could support
mouse buttons in addition to keys. Default bindings are provided for the
first three buttons, but many mice nowadays have more than three buttons;
the extras could be put to helpful uses like hiding/shading/closing
windows, cycling through workspaces, etc.

I couldn't figure out a way to implement this that was sane and didn't
break a bunch of stuff. Discussion (and the patch I tried writing) on
bug #83210.

If someone can write a patch that doesn't make a huge mess and handles
all the corner cases and keeps the default UI working really smoothly,
we can consider it.
