GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 110126
Can't create directories because of missing menu item
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
redhat-release-8.0-8 nautilus-2.2.3-1 Open Nautilus with tree view. Browse to /tmp and you'll propably see some files in the main window. Now do the following: A) Right click on anywhere on right window, over some file or directory, or at empty space: 1) When clicked over some item, the menu opened does not contain "Create directory" (or similar) option 2) When clicked over empty space, there is no menu at all B) Right click on /tmp entry on the Tree view, there is no menu at all ps. yes, there's "New folder" in main menu of Nautilus, but user expects this function to appear in given previous locations
When clicking over empty space, I get a right-click menu (in 2.2.3.1). The "new folder" option is greyed out and unavailable for folders in which I don't have write permission. In the case of your example, /tmp, it works correctly. This and your other bug (110127) suggest something weird in your setup.
The problem here is that you can't access the context menu for the current folder in the list view :/ *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 94618 ***
