I wasn't sure if it this belonged in libgimp or User Interface, so you 
can reassign as needed.

As some simple examples using either the "Load Image" dialog or the "Save 
Image" dialog and probably any others that show the file system.
None of these show the A: drive or any floppy drives from the system.

I classified it as minor, because there is a workaround - simply type the 
drive letter in the "Selection" field at the bottom.  For example tying 
in "A:"

It is neither a libgimp, nor a user interface problem, it is the GTK+
file selector which needs to be improved.
