GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 109002
Terminal Crash on XDMCP - not local execution
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Description of Problem: When logging in through XDMCP (X-Win32 from Win2k), terminal crashes after 'bout 20 seconds. Terminal window comes up, and right when I'm about to get the command prompt, the terminal segfaults. It's tried as both root and normal user. This problem does not exist when logging in locally. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Log ind through XDMCP 2. Click terminal icon on top taskbar 3. Wait... Actual Results: Window is drawn, black background (it's white when running), lots of disk activity for an extended period of time - and then segfault. Expected Results: The terminal should start. ;-) How often does this happen? Every time. Additional Information: Gnome 2.2r2 on a Gentoo box running kernel 2.4.20r1.
Could you get us a stack trace? (Instructions here if you've not done this before: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/getting-traces.cgi) Thanks.
