Description Jeffrey Baker 2003-03-16 23:54:06 UTC
When I load the wireless applet I simply get the string N/A. What I want
is to get the status of my wireless link!

Here are the contents of /proc/net/wireless:

Inter-| sta-| Quality | Discarded packets | Missed
face | tus | link level noise | nwid crypt frag retry misc | beacon
  eth0: 023f 15. 178. 0 0 0 0 0 11835 0
 wifi0: 023f 15. 178. 0 0 0 0 0 11835 0

I checked the code and I think the applet should be able to parse this.
Perhaps there is another problem?

Does your wireless interface show up as an option in the preferences?
Comment 2 Jeffrey Baker 2003-03-20 22:59:35 UTC
Yes, both eth0 and wifi0 can be selected. They are actually the same
interface.

Ah. That explains it. :)
