GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 107695
New files are saved with names in UTF8 sequences
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
In non-unicode locales saving new files causes appearance of UTF8 sequences in filenames. G_BROKEN_FILENAMES variable has no ingluence on such behaviour. Seems g_filename_from_uft8/uri() functions should be used before saving.
Do you see it only when creating new files? Do you see it also if you overwrite an existing file?
Hmm, I even cannot open non-ascii named file. I see it in file selector, but if I press OK gedit tells me 'Cannot open file /home/dmitry/<utf8 sequence>'
