Description paul.deasy 2003-03-04 17:24:56 UTC
Description of Problem:
Unable to open a terminal session, when attempting
to access to gnome session, using XDMP direct
broadcast method.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
NOTE: Have only tested using Netmanage Viewnow
v.1.0 using RH7.3 box with kernel 2.4.18-24.7.x

1. Open a terminal session - crashes immediately,
with error 'Application "gnome-terminal" (Process
xxxx) has crashed due to a fatal error. (Floating
point exception)'  {of course the xxxx is the PID}

3. If I login directly to the actual RH7.3 box, I
don't have any problems with a telnet session

Actual Results:
Terminal window appears for a brief moment, and
error message appears. Click on 'close' and
terminal window and error dialogue dissapear.

Expected Results:
A terminal screen

Thanks for the bug report. Without a stack trace from the crash it's
very hard to determine what caused the crash. Please see
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/getting-traces.cgi for more information
about getting a useful stack trace.

I've experienced exactly the same problem when accessing the box
remotely through X-Win Pro 5.3. If I use the console there is no such
problem. Get a lot of errors about incomplete fonts (as shown at
beginning of trace).
