Description of Problem:
panel segfaults when starting a gnome-session or when launching it from
command line 

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Log in a gnome session or launch it from a xterm
2. 
3. 

Actual Results:
I get an error box saying that gnome-panel (process: xxxx) breaks  due a
fatal error (segmentation fault). If launching it from command line I
get: ** (gnome-panel:xxxx): WARNING **: Can't load the stock panel icon
«go»

Expected Results:
Itĺl must be a panel

Appears to be a unique stack trace, according to the
simple-dup-finder.  Setting version->2.2.x, marking priority->high &
severity->critical (it's a crasher), adding GNOMEVER2.2 and bugsquad
keywords, and marking as new.
