GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 106254
Schedule on last day of month
Last modified: 2018-06-29 20:28:35 UTC
When scheduling a transaction for the last day of the month, GnuCash appears to ignore "last" and picks the numbered day, even if it is past the end of the month. For example, try to schedule a monthly payment beginning on 2/28/03, then pick "[31/last]" in the "On the" drop down list. GnuCash pushes the payment up to 3/3/03. Selecting "[30/last]" results in 3/2/03 and "[29/last]" results in 3/1/03.
Appears to work correctly in 1.8.3
I think the bug is still there. I installed gnucash-1.8.8-1.RH7.3.i386.rpm on a Red Hat 7.3 system. On December 8, I tried to create a scheduled transaction to deposit interest in a chequing account on the last day of the month: I selected "automatically create", set the start date to November 1 (a 30-day month), and for the day I picked "31st/last". GnuCash automatically created a transaction on Dec 1.
