GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 106183
MS windoze explorer-like list view for nautilus
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: nautilus Severity: enhancement Version: 2.2.1 Synopsis: MS windoze explorer-like list view for nautilus Bugzilla-Product: nautilus Bugzilla-Component: View as (Other) Description: Description of Problem: Nautilus is missing a list view like the one we find in MS windoze explorer. The current list view is OK for some purposes. I suggest the creation of a new, more compact, horizontally scrolable list view. Steps to reproduce the problem: - Actual Results: - Expected Results: This new view would have each file being represented by a small icon grouped with the file name label, side-by-side. Files in the viewport should then be listed from top to bottom, until all vertical space is full, and then from left to right, enabling horizontal scroll on the viewport. It should be a very compact and fast visualization. How often does this happen? - Additional Information: Many users are eagerly awaiting for this feature to be implemented... I wish I could help, but I don't know where to start implementing a new view for nautilus. Are there any devel-docs for that? ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2003-02-15 13:17 ------- Reassigning to the default owner of the component, nautilus-maint@bugzilla.gnome.org.
Hi Rafael - I think this is a great idea. I suggest sending an email to the gnome-love mailing list (go to lists.gnome.org) asking for pointers. You could also try the nautilus mailing list. This has already been requested in bug 66768, so I'm marking this as a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 66768 ***
