gnome-terminal dies if 2nd instance starts too soon
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: gnome-terminal Severity: normal Version: 2.0.1 Synopsis: gnome-terminal dies if 2nd instance starts too soon Bugzilla-Product: gnome-terminal Bugzilla-Component: general BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.0.3) Description: Description of Problem: gnome-terminal trying to start as part of normal X startup (windowmaker environment, not gnome or kde); before the saved-session gnome-terminal had appeared, I tried to activate another (via wmdrawer applet, different profile). Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. use windowmaker (in my case on RH8.0) 2. ensure gnome-terminal is one of the apps in the saved session 3. on X startup, try to fire up another one from a dockapp Actual Results: core dump Expected Results: two gnome-terminals How often does this happen? First time to my knowledge (in several hundred, but I don't always fire up that second gnome-terminal so quickly). Additional Information: Sorry if this isn't enough info. Wanted to sign myself by my usual linux/oss/gnu email (root@chien-noir.com) but bug buddy wouldn't let me ;-( (and I understand why.) Debugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/gnome-terminal' (no debugging symbols found)...[New Thread 8192 (LWP 1446)] 0x420ae169 in wait4 () from /lib/i686/libc.so.6
