Description Neil Carlson 2003-02-04 18:48:25 UTC
The Mortgage/Loan Druid shows a bogus initial payment on the 'review' page,
whose date coincides with the start date of the loan. The first payment
should be one period later. To see this clearly, just set up a simple
fixed rate loan (no escrow-like stuff) with a short length of 3 monthly
periods.
The review page shows 4 payments instead of 3, and the sum of the principle
payments exceeds the loan amount. The details of the last 3 payments are
exactly correct (assuming discrete compounding, post-period payments) and
constitute the complete payment schedule. The first payment is bogus and
probably corresponds starting the print loop at 0 instead of 1, and feeding
the principle/interest formulae '0' for the payment number.
