GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 105136
All binaries corrupt
Last modified: 2006-06-18 05:22:35 UTC
Since upgrading to the latest beta version (actually 0.13.3.91) all binaries I've downloaded have been corrupt. There aren't any messages indicating a problem in the run log. I'll look into this further tonight.
I'm not seeing this at all. Any console warnings?
No, nothing at all. Even the "corrupt image header" warning has gone... I'll ask someone who uses the same server to d/l some stuff to make sure it's not a problem there.
Can I change my story - now I'm back home there are "Checksum failed....may be corrupt" messages on the console.
Now confirmed that a posting downloaded with 0.13.3.90 works whereas one downloaded with 0.13.3.91 is corrupt.
Let me work a couple of different angles here... 1. yenc and uu, or just yenc? 2. singlepart and multipart, or just multipart? 3. could you diff .msg files downloaded from .90 and .91 so that we can see what the differences are? 4. just to confirm, no console messages at all regarding socket connections, talking about buffering or encoding? 5. what platform are you using, and what version of gnet? cheers, Charles
Can't answer all the questions yet: Only multipart, so far. None of the console messages you mention. Red Hat 7.3, Ximian, gnet 1.1.8 (RPM from gnet site) I'll have another look tomorrow night.
