gnome terminal dies right after starting
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: general Severity: normal Version: >Synopsis: gnome terminal dies right after starting >Class: sw-bug Distribution: Red Hat Linux release 6.0 (Hedwig) System: Linux 2.2.14masq i686 unknown C library: glibc-2.1.2-11 C compiler: 2.95.2 glib: 1.2.7 GTK+: 1.2.7 ORBit: ORBit 0.5.1 gnome-libs: gnome-libs 1.0.58 gnome-core: gnome-core 1.1.8.1 >Description: When I first boot up my machine in init mode 3 and start x from the command line, the wrong background comes up on the first virtual desktop. This is not a problem for me don't worry about it. However, if I go into enlightenment and change to the desktop that I want and then start up a gnome terminal, the gnome terminal immediately dies if I have transparent shaded background. To fix this problem, I have to go to the second virtual desktop, start a virtual terminal with on that page then I can go back to the first virtual desktop and open up a gnome terminal with no problem. -ben ------- Bug moved to this database by debbugs-export@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-01-27 15:17 ------- This bug was previously known as bug 10373 at http://bugs.gnome.org/ http://bugs.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10373 Originally filed under the gnome-core product and gnome-terminal component.
