GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 103150
New Launcher creates wrong type for "Directory"
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
When You do a gnome-desktop-item-edit --create-new 'applications:///' And add a new launcher of 'Directory' with this method, there is actually a .desktop entry created instead of a .directory entry, thus Nautilus is failing to display this folder, and gives an the following error: 'applications:///foobar.desktop This is a test Nautilus content view component' Should this be a fault of Nautilus, please move it to the appropiate category. If needed, the Summary could also be changed to better reflect the issue then.
BTW, why I think this is important is, that you normally create new launchers and menus by using Nautilus -> go -> Start-here:->applications:/// Then you actually create a Directory first, to change into this directory and add more launchers, due to this bug you can create the directory but you can not change into it while in applications:///, so adding new launchers into the new added directory is impossible using this way.
