Mirrors in Germany: errors 400 and 504

The mirror ftp://ftp.tuts.net/mirror/gimp.org/gimp/ is a 400, and ftp://infosoc.uni-koeln.de/pub/ftp.gimp.org/ a 504. Only ftp://ftp.fh-heilbronn.de/mirrors/ftp.gimp.org/gimp/ works.
And ftp://ftp.fh-heilbronn.de/mirrors/ftp.gimp.org/gimp/ is outdated - last updated in Feb 2002.
Thanks for notifying us about these broken mirrors. I just got back from vacation and I will try to fix this tomorrow, when I have a better access to the 'net. It looks like the only solution is to remove these sites from the list of mirrors. :-( Maybe you could try to send them an e-mail and ask them if they plan to restore or update their mirror? Since you are German, you can probably do that better than I can.

Got a reply from the ftp://ftp.tuts.net/mirror/gimp.org/gimp/ admin: The mirror was shut down in 1999. They tried to contact someone at gimp.org, but nothing happened. Please remove it.
As a temporary solution, I have removed the two mirrors that are gone but I kept the one that is outdated. If you do not get any reply from the ftp admin of ftp.fh-heilbronn.de in the next few days, I will also remove it from the list. I am keeping this bug open until we get some new information.
By the way, I am not surprised that the admin of the tuts.net mirror has tried to contact the webmasters but did not get any response. As far as I know, nobody is reading the mails sent to webmasters@gimp.org (or at least, I am not reading them and I do not know who has access to that alias). It would be much better if the problems with the mirrors were reported through Bugzilla, because this is monitored by more people (including myself, acting as webmaster for www.gimp.org). The webmasters e-mail address was still mentioned in the motd message that is displayed when someone connects to the site. I have replaced it with a reference to http://www.gimp.org/webmasters.html. Let's hope that it will work better...

No problem. I also did the same mistake a couple of times in the past. ;-) Michael, did you get any response from the ftp admin of FH-Heilbronn? I propose that we remove this mirror from the list if we do not get any answer from them before the end of next week. I already marked the mirror as "outdated" on the web page. Alternatively, if you think that it would still be useful to keep this mirror with the "outdated" tag, then we can close this bug report now.
No response yet. In my opinion, it would be pointless to keep the link. I'll send them another message today, let's see if there is any reaction.
Got a reply. My message is being forwarded to the person who is responsible for the mirrors. Waiting for his answer.
THe FH Heilbronn mirror was updated today.
OK. Thanks. I have removed the "(outdated)" note next to the link for that mirror. Let's hope that they keep it up to date now.
Changing all www.gimp.org bugs from gimp product to the gimp-web product, including old closed/fixed bugs, and reassigning.
re-resolving old bugs
Re-assigning all open and closed bug reports related to ftp mirrors to the "ftp mirrors" component. Let's hope that we are done with all these Bugzilla changes....
