I am using gnome 2.0.x, and the panel preferences capplet does not respond
to changes made to its keys through the gconf editor.

According to Luis it also happens with gnome 2.1.x.

By panel preferences capplet I mean the one that is accessed through
desktop preferences/advanced/panel.

        * gnome-panel-preferences.c: (bool_value_changed_notify),
        (load_checkboxes), (enum_value_changed_notify),
        (load_animation_menu), (load_config_into_gui): receive
        gconf notifications and update the GUI accordingly.
        Fixes #101064.
