Description James Kahn 2002-12-05 22:26:47 UTC
Rather long summary, I couldn't think of anything shorter.

Basically, I have /dev/hdb2 mounted at /home/james/Media.  / is /dev/hda1.
 Both are reiserfs, if that has any relevance. I have set Nautilus to use
the home folder as the desktop and when I try to reposition the "Media"
icon nautilus attempts to copy the Media folder rather than repositioning it.

This also happens when repositioning the icon in a normal nautilius "View
as Icons" window.

The workaround I have been using to move the icon to another location is

Right click -> Stretch Icon
*Stretch so it overlaps where I want the new position to be*
Right click -> Restore Icon's original size.

Cheers,
James.
