GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 772540
REQUEST: For Compile/Flag --disable-firewallzone
Last modified: 2016-10-09 03:13:50 UTC
I noticed with the network applet in 1.4.2, actually I see this is also in 1.2x, not sure when this support was added for the FirewallID? Is there a way to disable the compiling of this support in? I would like to be able to remove the 'Firewall zone' under the General tab when you edit connections. I personally have a firewall I use, so I have no need for this, and would like it removed from the GUI, even if it's not takking up space, or doing anything... I hope someone can please make an update so there is a compile/flag to remove this? --disable-firewall-zone THANKS
The firewall-component in the applet/nm-c-e does not involve any additional dependency (like a library). Thus, disabling it at compile time is not a big win and runtime-detection seems better. That is already fixed by bug 769446 (which is not yet part of any official release of the applet). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 769446 ***
I didn't realize only Fedora ships firewalld. Well it would be great to get this completly removed out of the applet and the network-mananger and have this as optional compile flags for anyone that might use it... But I guess for now it's being hidden? THANKS
Thanks Thomas you the MAN, what fast replies and bug fixes/patchs I've ever seen in Linux! WoOT I'll apply the patch and let you know! THANKS
Working good! :)
