GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 770164
Unable to get into GNOME-Wayland with AutoLogin enabled
Last modified: 2016-11-24 20:58:11 UTC
AutoLogin always starts a X session, even if Wayland has been selected in the gdm menu previously. gdm 3.20.1 on Arch.
I have a tablet with Fedora 25, GNOME 3.22, set to autologin. Wayland is enabled by default now and this issue doesn't happen for me. Can you confirm it is gone with 3.22?
This issue only affect GNOME 3.20 and thus is obsolete now, see : https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=774306 On GNOME 3.22, the issue is exactly the other way around (can't get into X session with autologin).
Thanks, marking this as fixed then.
It's not fixed in the 3.20 branch. Maybe there's an underlying bug that prevent you to get into the "GNOME's alternative sessions" (other than the default one) with autologin enabled.
The 3.20 branch is not supported anymore.
