GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 759689
Help documentation - Commands and license
Last modified: 2018-05-24 18:39:50 UTC
While translating the help documentation I found two things I'm wondering about. 1) Should the sections describing the commando strings, i.e. msgid "<keycap>play</keycap>" and the other really be translated and the functionality would still work? If not, please add a comment to the translators. 2) The whole GNU-license is in the help documentation! This is not a common thing to do and I haven't seen this in the other GNOME-projects documentations I've translated - puts a lot more strain on the translator. Would it be possible to just include the license elsewhere than to have it in the documentation?
To be honest I don't think the documentation is worth translating at this point.
Because it's outdated?
Looking at the images in the docs I can see that Rhythmbox has changed a bit since the documentation was written. Regarding point 2: if a translated GNU FDL is desirable I think it would be work saving for translators if Rhythmbox could use the one that is offered for translation in gnome-desktop. https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-desktop/tree/desktop-docs/fdl
