GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 751473
Font cut off in lock screen
Last modified: 2015-11-04 11:26:42 UTC
Created attachment 306064 [details] cropped screenshot of lock screen Fresh install of GNOME 3.16.2 on Arch Linux. Noticed that the lock screen cuts off the letters for the date and clock. Please see attached screenshot.
Just to confirm this issue is still present. I have installed a fresh Arch install with GNOME 3.16.4 on a different machine (my laptop) with the same result.
I'm having the same issue here and I'm using Arch Linux too. Currently I have these versions of the packages installed: gdm-3.16.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz libgdm-3.16.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz I've tried to downgrade it to these versions but with the same problem. gdm-3.16.1.1-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz libgdm-3.16.1.1-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz I won't be able to check another versions since I only have these available locally.
There is a thread in Arch's Forum saying that this is a problem related to an update of freetype2 font. Try to downgrade from version 2.6-1 to 2.5.5-1, it worked here. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=199406
