GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 728442
Dock controls to bottom if full-screen
Last modified: 2015-12-03 18:54:59 UTC
As related in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=727216, hovering the controls inside of the canvas occludes much more of the video than needed. Additionally, it’s now become quite a nuiscance to adjust the volume level. Where originally, you could just fling the cursor to the bottom right, now you actually have to take aim. This deters from the playing media much more than one would expect. (Also cf. http://blog.codinghorror.com/fitts-law-and-infinite-width/)
I know Fitt's law pretty well, thanks ;) You can also use hardware buttons, and the up/down arrows to change the volume.
We actually want to do this whether fullscreened or not. Thanks for taking the time to report this. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 732528 ***
