Description Charles Lindsay 2013-11-21 20:26:02 UTC

---- Reported by geary-maint@gnome.bugs 2012-07-26 04:10:00 -0700 ----

Original Redmine bug id: 5582
Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/5582
Searchable id: yorba-bug-5582
Original author: Julien Chanséaume
Original description:

It is generally very long to write a short message: how to formulate, spell
checking, ...

Why not offer the ability to record an audio message directly in the email
composer. The message would be included as an attachment in the email, as a
wav/ogg/mp3 file.

Audio attachments could be read directly from Geary.

It would be a really innovative and productive feature for Geary.

This is an interesting idea; to a certain extent you can already avoid typing
with text-to-speech software, but I realize that's not exactly what you're
asking for.

Moving to low priority for now.

This is indeed an interesting idea, but it is a good candidate for a plug-in, once Bug 714883 is fixed.
Comment 2 Michael Gratton 2018-10-28 22:25:59 UTC
I just wrote up a tracking bug for the plugin system over at gitlab that collects all of the requirements for feature requests that should be implemented as plugins in the one place, so closing this bug in favour of that ticket: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/geary/issues/155
