GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 71170
"Rewrap" button freezes Pan
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
When composing a reply to a message in a group, clicking on the "rewrap" button freezes Pan solid (the window won't even refresh if you move another window over it). The only way out is to use xkill or send it a SIGKILL.
I can't reproduce this; could you run Pan with "--debug" to see where the freeze takes place?

Opened by gkmeyer@nysscpa.org on 2002-03-21 21:36 Long Description This has been reported, but since you were unable reproduce I thought would leave some additional information over what has been previously reported. I have noticed this happening in 11.2 and 11.2.90. Pan freezes when using the rewrap button, after copying text from the clipboard into the message. I personally have had this occur only when using Follow-up to newsgroup. Basically the routine is click on message in header pane, click Post - Follow-up to newsgroup, type some text, copy some text from console, other message or web-page through the clipboard, click rewrap. Attempting to enter more text discloses that Pan has crashed. Additional info that might be helpful: My Mandrake 2.4.8-34 kernel has been patched for Win4Lin.
Could you tell us which version of gtk+ you are using ?

"rpm -qa | grep | gtk+" outputs: libgtk+1.2-1.2.10-14.ximian.18 libgtk+mdk0.1_6-0.1.6-4mdk libgtk+1.2-devel-1.2.10-14mdk gtk+licq-0.51-3mdk
I have not been able to reproduce this problem with 0.11.2.90.
Should be fixed in 0.11.90; the rewrap code has been rewritten *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 68058 ***
