GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 710595
"Details" panel has a button for updating the system which still tries to run gpk-update-viewer
Last modified: 2013-12-24 14:07:55 UTC
As of GNOME 3.10.1 / Fedora 20 it seems like we're trying to rationalize everything to do updates via systemd offline update and use GNOME Software for packaging stuff. One of our Fedora QA folks (satellit) has found one that slipped under the radar, I think. If you go into Control Center and click 'Details', there's a button at bottom left which lets you update the system, if it thinks updates are available. I think this is still hooked up to run gpk-update-viewer, which won't work in Fedora at least since https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2013-18952/gnome-packagekit-3.10.0-2.fc20 . According to satellit, the button 'used to work' around F20 Beta TC2 but no longer does, which fits the timeframe. This should probably get hooked into offline updates, I guess.
