Description big 2002-02-04 13:03:35 UTC
I think, the GIMP realy needs tighter vector and raster manipulation &
integration. The most successful example would be Pait Shop Pro.
Currently path tool is not effective tool for vector drawing.

Maybe there is possibility to integrate Sketch into GIMP, or provide
similar functionality?

If you can re-write Sketch in ISO C instead of Python, then it would
be possible to integrate both. But currently, these two tools are
written in different languages and it would be hard to merge them
(because the support for vectors would have to be added to the core of
the Gimp, not only in a plug-in).

Anyway, there is already a wishlist item related to vector graphics:
you can find it in bug #68915. You can also have a look at bug #61786
and bug #6893.
