GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 695848
Backlight doesn't turn on after I open lid
Last modified: 2013-03-27 22:29:56 UTC
When I open the lid of my laptop it resumes from suspend, but the backlight doesn't come up - I have to press a key first.
I'm sure this would reignite discussions around lid-close and suspend. Better to fix it before 3.8
Xorg isn't resetting the IDLETIME despite receiving a fake key event. Bug is likely in gnome-idle-monitor, or in Xorg. Actually, it's likely in Xorg...
hmm, it works for me - is this hw specific ?
this needs retesting, with all the other suspend, dim and backlight fixes that went in recently.
(In reply to comment #4) > this needs retesting, with all the other suspend, dim and backlight fixes that > went in recently. Yes please. It would also be useful to know whether you see the desktop for a short period of time when opening the lid before it blanks. I saw this some time ago, and I suspect it was gnome-shell which didn't install a delay inhibitor (or there was a bug in that code).
Works fine with gnome-shell 3.8.0.1 and gnome-settings-daemon 3.8.0. I'm going to close this for now.
