GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 682321
Highlight font not readable
Last modified: 2012-08-22 10:03:28 UTC
Created attachment 221947 [details] Unmodified screenshot showing unreadable highlight font. A month or two ago the font used to display highlighted text changed to black on black on my machine, which obviously is unreadable. See the attached screenshot (which is unmodified apart from cropping). This may well be a gnome setting somewhere. I use xfce4, so getting to those settings isn't easy. As far as I can tell there aren't any settings in gnome-control-center and gnome-tweak-tool that control how highlighting is done. The screenshot can also be viewed here: http://www.stuart.id.au/russell/files/pub/evolution-highlighting.png

This is Debian report 685465 [1]. [1] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=685465
Russell, could you please confirm that upgrading to package `libgtk-3-0` 3.4.2-3 fixes the issue for you. Unfortunately upgrading from Evolution 3.2.2 to Evolution 3.4.3 this issue partly came back for me as I reported in bug 682435. [1] https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=682435

I should have done that before closing the debian bug. > Unfortunately upgrading from Evolution 3.2.2 to Evolution 3.4.3 this issue > partly came back for me as I reported in bug 682435. > > [1] https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=682435 Exactly the same for me. Everything appears to be fixed bar selected text, which is still appears to be back text on a black background. Is there Debian bug for this? If not, one of us should raise one so the Evolution packager(s) are aware of https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=682435 We can always close it if 682435 ends not being a Evolution problem.

I propose to use your report. I will try to do the Debian BTS dance.
