GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 669920
Improve the appearance of the drop-down list of suggested URL's
Last modified: 2012-05-16 15:32:19 UTC
Right now it looks like this: |fav| GNOME |icn| http://www.gnome.org I think it would improve the usability of this list if the URL used a smaller font than the website's name, and maybe even a lighter text color too.
Created attachment 207486 [details] Screenshot of the current look Attached a screenshot of the current epiphany.
Other browsers for comparison: Firefox - URL is smaller and grey, below site's name: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_QdU9uvAk5ag/SmqBIyPVywI/AAAAAAAAENw/ZRFXEgoVXzs/s1600-h/screenshot-firefox-url-autocomplete-start.png Safari - URL is the same size and grey, to the right of the site's name: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_QdU9uvAk5ag/SmqBJmQEjuI/AAAAAAAAEOI/uo19OGQzaYU/s1600-h/screenshot-safari-url-autocomplete-start.png Chrome - URL is the same size and green, to the left of the site's name: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_QdU9uvAk5ag/Sx6yndeBk9I/AAAAAAAAFKU/kHGx1oC2o5I/s1600-h/screen-browser-search-chrome.png Since Epiphany 3.4 starts in maximized mode and the URL bar covers nearly the entire screen it might be a better use of space to have both pieces in the same line, as Safari and Chrome.
