Description bhargav 2011-12-11 08:10:23 UTC
When using single click to open files/folders in nautilus, placing the mouse on a file/folder should select it, it just "Highlights It" as of now. This is quite important and the only way to select the folder/file is by using the arrow keys or any file/folder that you touch with the 'Selection Box' becomes selected, which is quite round about.
A simple action like renaming by pressing F2 would become increasingly easy if this is implemented.(place the mouse on the folder, "Nautilus Automatically Selects It", press F2, key in the name)

I just checked in the Windows Explorer. This option is very well implemented. Placing the mouse on a folder/file for "a second selects it". I think we should have it here as well.

So without any user action an action should take place. I'm not very convinced.
After how much time would this happen?

No. I didn't mean without any action. May be placing the mouse pointer on a folder/file for "1 Second" should select it.
