GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 662137
Banshee UI occasionally stops responding while playing music, using ~337% CPU
Last modified: 2011-10-25 14:32:39 UTC
The banshee UI occasionally stops responding while playing music, using ~337% CPU. This has happened to me twice now, since upgrading to Ubuntu 11.10 (Banshee 2.20). I can kill banshee with |kill|; I don't need to use |kill -9|. Next time it happens, I'll try to capture the log with kill -s QUIT $(pidof banshee); cp ~/.config/banshee-1/log ~/Desktop/banshee.log Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help figure this out.
Thanks for your bug report. Can you tell if the problem goes away when disabling the UbuntuMusicStore extension?
I just disabled it. The hang is happening only once every few days for me, so I'll report back in about a week if I haven't seen the hang.
Seems to be working fine now that I disabled that extension. I guess we need to close this and file a Ubuntu bug?
Thanks, then it's likely that this is a duplicate of bug 660818, which has already an ubuntu ticket open (865697). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 660818 ***
Created attachment 199938 [details] Log of hung process
I apparently spoke too soon; it just hung again, this time with the Ubuntu plugin disabled. Music continues to play, but the UI is frozen. See the log I just attached.
Sounds like bug #659841
Certainly, thanks Iain. BTW it's likely that bug 659841 is fixed if you update gconf to v3.2.1. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 659841 ***
