Hi,

at Debian, we got an update to the desktop file. Unfortunately, the patch (including updated translations) applies to the installed desktop file, not the dia.desktop.in.in source.

Nevertheless, please consider:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=641709

Thanks!

bye,
  Roland

Add GenericName to desktop file

This patch actually applies to the dia sources and adds GenericName (or better: Name/GenericName differentiation) support to dia.desktop.in.in as required by freedesktop.org standards.

But it has according to bug 614947. What am I missing here?

While I can confirm that I can find the respective fix in the git repo, I wonder why it has been applied on 2010-07-15 but in latest dia 0.97.2 from 2011-12-18, it's not present? I.e. even 1.5 years after the fix applied, it didn't find its way into the release done then.

That's because not everything got merged to the branch. IIRC my review of bugs to backport was based on priorities and maybe even correctly set target milestone.
