Description Fedor Nikolaev 2011-06-12 09:04:53 UTC
When i fill in my uin, password and click login empathy says "Disconnected - Network error". I tried to run "mc-tool update haze/icq/_33819327520 bool:use-clientlogin=0", change server:port to login.icq.com:443 and now it says "Disconnected - Authentication failed" when i type wrong password but still can't connect with right password.

I have the same problem. selinux is also deactivated. Other protocols (Jabber) are working.

I have the same problem on Fedora 15 running empathy 3.0.2. I attached the log file when trying to log into icq. Pidgin on the other hand is able to log in just fine. If you need additional debug information, please let me know.

The solution proposed by eros2 at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/telepathy-haze/+bug/795932/comments/13 worked for me. I guess to FAQ in the wiki should be updated accordingly.

Seems like a libpurple "bug" then. Maybe we should report that upstream and close this here as NOTGNOME.

However, entering random commands on the command-line doesn't sound like a good solution to me...
Comment 6 Guillaume Desmottes 2011-06-17 10:49:15 UTC
ICQ revoked libpurple's API key. Apparently they are going to have a new one, not much we can do.
